JACOB H. DUECK May 21, 1940 - March 17, 2005 Suddenly, following a chronic illness, our beloved Papa and Opa went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2005, at home. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hildegard; children, Gerry (Maria) and Tim; grandchildren, Amy, Kayla and Michael; brothers, Cornelius, Henry, Diedrich, Peter, Bernard and Isaac; sisters, Anna, Tina, Nettie, Susie and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Anna Dueck and seven other siblings. Jake was always ready to laugh and joke around, and brought joy to all who knew him. He lived his life in devotion to Jesus Christ, and had a close walk with Him. After working for a number of years at DeFehr Furniture, Jake worked at CNR until his retirement. For many years he had struggled with fibromyalgia, a battle which he fought courageously. We miss you Papa, and we love you. We know you're home now, with the Lord, and we will see you again. Love your family. A funeral service and reception will be held on Monday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowandale Ave. with viewing beginning at 12:15 p.m. Interment to follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jake's memory can be made to Rowandale Baptist Church Building Fund, 162 Rowandale Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 0A5.
