Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWIN RUSSELL MENSFORTH Edwin Russell Mensforth was born on October 12, 1932, and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Grace Hospital. Russ will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Lenora; and his five children, Doug of Winnipeg, Kathy of Edmonton, Wendy and her husband John Bovard, Lyn and Cee Satterley of Cold Lake, AB, Sandy and her husband Glenn Nowell of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren and two-great grandchildren. Besides his immediate family, he will be forever remembered by his brothers, Don (Ollie), Earl (Veronica); his two sisters, Lorraine (Frank) and Marilyn, all of Winnipeg. Russ was predeceased by his mother; father; and one brother Roy. Russell served in the navy during the Korean War and was stationed in British Columbia where he met his wife Lenora Ann. They moved back to Winnipeg where they lived for 50 years. Russ worked at Standard Aero for 20 years before retiring in 1992. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russ's memory to D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre, 1793 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0E8.
