PATRICIA (PAT) LINDSTEDT (nee McLAREN) Peacefully, with her children at her side, our beloved Mom passed away on March 14, 2005 at Nanaimo, BC. Pat leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Ron; children, Kim (Joe), Kendra and Kent (Shelley); grandchildren, Jesse, Tyler, Zachary and Hayden; sisters, Pam (Brian), Penny (Dave); brother Bob (Karen), many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and her granddogs, Buster and Kisha. Pat was predeceased by both her father Mac and her mother Jean. Pat was born in Winnipeg on September 30, 1947 and was raised in Elmwood, but had moved to Calgary in 1987 where she met and married her second husband Ron. She then moved to Vancouver Island and very much enjoyed her life there. She worked as a Legal Assistant for many years, having started that new career while in Calgary. At the time of her death, she was employed at Owen Co., where she very much enjoyed her days. Pat lived life to the fullest and everything the world had to offer. She loved to travel and took many wonderful trips in her life. Her most special trips though were to come home to Winnipeg and visit with her family, whom she loved very much. She never had enough time to visit with all those who wanted to see her. Her family also cherished their trips to see Pat in Nanaimo, especially her parents who visited on an annual basis up until their deaths in 1999. One of Pat's most special memories was when her grandchildren came to visit in 2001. She had always wanted them to come and see where she lived on the Island and was ecstatic when they did. She left many fond memories with her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all for their prayers, calls, cards, flowers, food and gifts during this very difficult time. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, located on Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. (204) 222-3241. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, contributions may be made in memory of Pat to a charity of choice.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I will miss Pat! She was my co-worker at MacIsaac & Company and also my friend. Although with the raising of my young family (6, 4, & 2 yrs) I didn't see Pat as much as we used to see eachother when I and my husband Paul had no kids. Everytime I saw Pat it was a pleasure. She always had good things to say. She was a great listener and a great understander! I have great memories and I'm blessed to have had her in my life. Keep well to all. xo Tamala Gunnell and family - Posted by: Tamala Gunnell (Friend) on: Mar 24, 2005

  • I dealt with Pat mostly over the phone, as I am a legal aid worker in Nanaimo so I often called Owen & Company looking for a lawyer. I always enjoyed speaking with Pat and felt a degree of friendship with her. She was always friendly and pleaant and I am very much saddened to learn of her passing. I will miss her. . My thoughts are with her family at this time. - Posted by: Susan Crayston (Acquaintance) on: Mar 24, 2005

  • I worked with Pat several years ago in a Nanaimo law firm. My most recent contact with her has been in connection with her fund-raising efforts for Diabetes research, and I admired her for that. Pat contributed a lot to this world in her quiet way and she will be missed. - Posted by: Caroline Wabisca (Co-Worker) on: Mar 24, 2005

  • I received word yesterday of the passing of Pat Lindstedt. I worked with Pat in the past and was very surprised and saddened to hear that she had passed on at such a young age. Please accept my sympathy for your loss. I know you will have many good memories of Pat. I remember when I worked with her she was always buying gifts to send to her Winnipeg family for the special holidays and birthdays. She loved you all. I know of others in the Nanaimo legal community who liked and respected Pat and will also miss her. - Posted by: Maureen Wootten (Co-Worker) on: Mar 24, 2005
