NICK CIMARNO Peacefully, on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, Nick Cimarno passed away with his daughter Michele by his side. Nick was predeceased by his parents, John and Katie; his son Richard; and his second wife Frieda; as well as his sisters, Anna, Nell and Kay; and brothers, John, Bill, and Mike. He is survived by his daughter Michele and son-in-law Doug; grandchildren, Tabitha, Jamie Lee, Amanda, Nicholas (Leah) and Sara (Paul); five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; as well as his first wife and good friend, Olga Cimarno. He is also survived by brothers, Alex (Helen), Harry (Kay), Peter (Betty) and Frank (Shirley); and two sisters, Jean (George) and Mary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was born in Prawda, MB on August 28, 1928 and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He was a renowned chef at several Winnipeg restaurants and was known for his famous cheesecake . Nick was not afraid to tackle any project from gardening to construction. In his later years he loved his bright balcony flower garden. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fr. Yakiwchuck officiating. Interment will be at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Karen Lee Klym as well as the staff of the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and understanding. Special thanks also to Peter and Betty. Dear Michele, My thoughts are with you in your grief. Uncle Nicky was a wonderful person. I'm glad I got too see him and spend some time with him at my parent's (Harry & Kay) 25th anniversary some 4 years ago. May time and memories comfort you in the coming days.
