EDOUARD OCTAVE (ED/OTTO) DEREMIENS
Born: Aug 03, 1929
Date of Passing: Mar 18, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDOUARD OCTAVE (ED/OTTO) DEREMIENS August 3, 1929 - March 18, 2005 We invite you to celebrate the life of Edouard Octave Deremiens, beloved husband to Marjorie for 48 years, father to Janice (Francois) and Aileen (Wesley), brother to Rita, Joseph, Marie Paule, Therese, Guy, Lydia and uncle and cousin to many. Edouard was predeceased by his father Edouard Octave Sr.; and mother Bertha; sisters, Agnes Saquet and Rosalie Theoret. Edouard was a devoted employee of Winnipeg Hydro for decades, working primarily in the street lighting division. His coworkers all knew him as Otto. His interests included pole archery, gardening, bowling, farm work and playing cribbage. He was a member of the Belgium Club and St. Sebastians Archery Club. He won several trophies for his pole archery skills, including the coveted King Bird a few times. Edouard spent his retirement years working on family farms, and proving himself an invaluable asset. When he wasn't rototilling endless rows of strawberries, he was talking to berry pickers or tackling small animals. Animal management was not one of Edouard's many talents. Edouard was truly a gentle and charitable soul, and was always there to lend a hand, asking little in return. His sense of humour will be sadly missed by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L OK6. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 23 in the Carman United Church (viewing at 12:30 p.m.), 134 1st Street S.W., Carman, MB. Doyle's Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements. www.doyleschapels.com
