HELEN PARTYKA (CASSIE) (nee GRENIK) With her family by her side Helen passed away March 20, 2005 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 88. She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Walter; children, Reginald (Bernice), Donald (Linda), Marshall (Patricia), Norman (Sylvia), Elaine (Bill); grandchildren, Donald (Joyce), Robert (Melanie), Jeffrey (Tracy), Melanie, Christopher (Brigitte), Glenn (Lori); great-grandchildren, Cody, Luke, Matthew, Gillian, Kimberly, Christina, Billy, Dylan and Chanel; and sister Frances Fair of Vancouver. Helen was predeceased by sisters, Stella Sadowy and Jean Chonstewich; and brother Rod Grenik. Helen was born March 19, 1917 in Cook's Creek, moved to Winnipeg, married and raised her five children. She loved to garden in the summer especially growing beautiful flowers and spending time with her family on special occasions. In 1976 she married Walter Partyka. They enjoyed travelling, dancing, gardening and listening to music. She loved to share a little joke with you and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. Special thanks to the home care providers who helped with Mom's care at home, and to the Concordia Hospital staff who cared for Mom in her illness. Special thanks to Eileen, Susan and Gertrude. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don, Cody, Bob and Jeff Cassie, Chris and Glenn Wiesner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Salvation Army. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the precious times we shared, We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired.
