WILLIAM BANNISTER Peacefully on March 20, 2005 at Donwood Manor, William Bannister passed away at age 97 with his wife at his side. Left to cherish his memory are Louise, his wife of 61 years; two daughters, Gwen (Duke) Cameron, Sue (Ed) Martin; four grandchildren, Duke (Leona) Cameron, Bill (Rosalie) Cameron, Greg (Jacquie) Martin and Shelley Martin; eight great-grandchildren, Jamey, Julia, Kaitlyn and Megan Martin, Bethany and Bailey Cameron and their mother Katie, Kyla and Breann Cameron. He is further survived by four sisters, Ivy, Hilda, Ethel and Mildred; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford and Walter; and three sisters, Emily, Linda and Winnie. Bill worked at CPR Weston Shops for 47 years, retiring in 1971 to Crystal City where he and Louise spent 27 wonderful years. In 1988 they moved back to Winnipeg to be near family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, 2 North, where William and Louise spent the last year. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of William's life will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., R3L 0K6.
