NELLIE HNATIW (nee DUNITS) February 14, 1917 - March 21, 2005 Peacefully on March 21, 2005, Nellie passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 88 years. Nellie leaves to mourn her son Frank (Linda); daughters, Agnes (Norm), Dianne (Bruce); grandchildren, Megan, Jill, Rob, Jennifer and Evan; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary, Ann, Helen, Martha (Frank), Jean; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; infants, Peter and Tony; brothers, Joe and Mike. Nellie was born in Seech, MB and with her family moved to Winnipeg in 1948. She worked in the housekeeping department of the Victoria Hospital for over 25 years. She was an active member of St. Mary the Protectress Church for many years. Nellie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Prayers will be said on Thursday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Burrows at Sinclair with Rev. Fr. Jaroslaw Buciora as officiant. A private interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nellie's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
