Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN WILLIAM STEWART Norman was born in Winnipeg, MB on July 16, 1916 and passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the age of 88 years. Absent from the body, and present with the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:8. He lived most of his life in Winnipeg and worked in sales for various hardware outlets in the city. Norman accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, May 1, 1938 and from that day on his main interest was in the spread of the gospel and the fellowship of the Christians who meet at the West End Gospel Hall. He was a happy Christian man. On May 29, 1942 he married Janet Steffensen and they enjoyed 60 years of wedded life together. Janet went home to heaven June 22, 2002. His parents, Lindsay and Joyce Stewart; his sister Dorothy; and his infant son Douglas also predeceased him. As well, his beloved and devoted son David passed into the presence of the Lord on January 1, 2005. He is survived by his daughter Joan (Joseph) Bowman; his daughter-in-law Beverley Stewart; five very dear grandsons, John (Jeanie) Bowman, Stephen (Charlene) Bowman, Nolan, Peter and David Stewart; and two great-grandchildren, Savanna and Kamryn. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Henry Schulz and all the wonderful staff of the Calvary Place Extended Care Home, where Norman was lovingly cared for in the last five years of his life. The funeral service will be March 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the West End Gospel Hall, Victor Street and Ellice Avenue. Interment, St. James Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. And when life's journey is over, And I the dear Saviour shall see, I'll praise Him forever and ever, For saving a sinner life me. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
