Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETH) KATHLEEN RESTALL On Wednesday, March 16, 2005, Beth peacefully passed away at the age of 87 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a life-long resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba and had recently moved to Thunder Bay. She is survived by her sons Stan (Judy) of Winnipeg and Jim (Ritva) of Thunder Bay. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Brittany, Jennifer, Kaitlin, Allison and Ian. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stan Restall Sr., her mother Catherine Wright, father John Smallwood and brother Jack Smallwood. Beth was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Throughout her life, she was always caring for someone. Beth will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, gentle, caring and generous person with a wonderful sense of humour. Her volunteer pursuits and accomplishments reflected her desire to help others. Beth was an instructor and board member with the Manitoba Tai Chi Association. She enjoyed teaching her seniors . She served as the first female steward of Westworth United Church in Winnipeg. Beth was Camp Director for many years for CGIT Camp Breton in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Her family was proud of Beth being featured in a Maclean's magazine article on positive and active aging. Beth greatly enjoyed her frequent trips to visit her Thunder Bay family. She also enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. With her husband Stan's encouragement she became an accomplished golfer in her later years. They were both members of St. Boniface golf course in Winnipeg and enjoyed many golfing vacations. In her youth, she was a gifted basketball player. During the Second World War she left her stenographer position at MacDonald Brothers Aircraft Limited to join her husband wherever he was stationed as an RCAF pilot trainer. After raising her family, she worked in the University of Manitoba library. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Beth's life will be held at Westworth United Church on Grosvenor Street on March 28 at 1:30 p.m. Beth will be laid to rest alongside her husband Stan at Chapel Lawn. The family would like to thank the staff of Charleswood Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg and Dr. Geoff Davis and the staff of Five North at St. Joseph's Hospital in Thunder Bay for their kindness and their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Beth's memory may be made to the United Way. Mom: You would always sign your letters with the words that we now remember you with... Love, Luck and Laughter.
