HELEN FERRIS (OSIOWAY), aged 74 years, of Quadra Island, BC, passed away peacefully at Campbell River Hospital on March 18, 2005, after a very lengthy illness. Helen was born near the village of Chatfield, MB, May 20, 1930, daughter of the late Michael and Barbara (Baron) Osioway. In her lifetime she lived in Chatfield, Teulon and Winnipeg, MB, Campbell River, Nanaimo and Quadra Island, BC. She gained close and loving friends along the way. Mom enjoyed her children and all the kids, crocheting, dancing, picnics, gardening with a special fondness for the beauty of flowers, making soup for her grandson and perogies for all of us. Touching the lives of many she will be missed. We love you. On November 19, 1949, Helen was united in marriage to Fred (Alfred Albert) Ferris who predeceased her in 1973. The love of Mom's life, she is now reunited. Also, predeceased by her sisters, Nellie and Adeline; brother Louis. Survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Leon) Hrabarchuk, Fort McMurray, AB, Rina (Wayne) Nowazek, Quadra Island, BC, Rhonda Warman (Troy Bouchard), Quadra Island, BC; her grandchildren, Laurel, Jayne (Scotty) and Ty; her stepgrandchildren, Ariel Trego and Mark and Chuck Nowazek and her step great-grandchildren, Leslie, Tracey, Midori, Neva and Kieran Nowazek. Survived by siblings sisters, Josie Gottfred, Vickie (Andy) Stasiuk and brother Frank (Mary) Osioway. Survived by sisters-in-law, Jean Ferris, Ida Holowka, Laura (George) Leduchowski; brother-in-law Joe (Florence) Ferris, Bill Ferris. Lovingly remembered. Private family arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Services, 103-909 Island Hwy., Campbell River, Kent and Rosemarie Roduck, Owners / Funeral Directors. Cremation at Elk Falls Crematorium.
