DONALD FREDRICK MCNEELY October 29, 1946 - March 21, 2005 Don was taken from us suddenly on the first day of spring. He was predeceased by his sister Gwenda; father Oscar; mother Roberta; and nephew Russell. Don leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 33 years, Donna, of Sidney; brother Clifford (Annie) of Vancouver; sister Laureen (Earl) of Winfield, BC; and many nieces and nephews. His many friends and clients will also miss him for his quiet ways, his easy laugh, his kindness and generosity and his high level of honesty and integrity. Don worked in marine mechanics from the age of 19 and was considered a master of his trade. As a testament to his fine character, his clients became his friends. He was my gentle man. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr., with a reception to follow at 9235 Pinetree Rd., North Saanich. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to the charity of your choice.
