Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH ROBERT ESSELMONT Ken Esselmont, at 89 years, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2005 in Ottawa with his family close at hand. He is survived by his son, Murray (Lise); grandchildren, Monique Beuree (Jerry) and Max; great-grandson, Ethan Douglas Esselmont Beuree; sister Isabel (Transcona, MB); brothers, Bruce (Calgary) and Gordon (Winnipeg). Retired from the RCAF in 1945 and from Air Canada in 1976, following a very successful career as Station and Regional Manager in Timmins, North Bay, and Bridgetown, Barbados. He travelled extensively and frequently reminded friends that his ambition was to see this world before the next . He was an active member of the North Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Kinsmen Club, in which he served as President and District Governor, President of the Lions Club in 1972, just prior to his transfer to Barbados. In 1976, he retired to Kelowna, BC, where his wife, Mae Simmons, sadly passed away in 1977. He returned to live in his birthplace, Winnipeg, where his second spouse, Alice Turner, passed away in 1998. In 2003 he moved to Ottawa to spend his final days close to his son and family. A warm and wonderful man, who touched the lives of many, his memory will live on. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations if desired, may be made to a charity of your choice.
