KAY FLOOD Peacefully on March 24, 2005 Sarah Catherine (Kay) Flood. Kay was the cherished and eldest child of John Joseph and Sadie McNeil. Born September 14, 1922, Kay grew up in East Kildonan along with her brothers, Joe (deceased 1996) and Lloyd (deceased 2001). She was the gold medalist of her graduating class at St. Mary's Academy, working later in the Manitoba Legislature and coal industry prior to her marriage to Patrick James Flood (deceased 1990). Together, they raised their children, Joan, Michael and Neil in the River Heights area. As a family, they spent many happy summers camping and fishing in northwestern Ontario. In her later years, Kay became a gifted and proficient quilter, awarded in the Red River Exhibition. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joan (Tom) of Toronto, Michael (Kathy) of Vancouver and Neil (Janis) of Winnipeg, as well as her grandchildren, Kevin and Conor Healy (Toronto), Meghan, Jenissa, Erin and Laura Flood (Vancouver), Lexi and Reese Flood (Winnipeg). Her family wishes to thank the staff of Concordia Place who cared for her and made her part of their family in her final years. Prayers will be said on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl. Interment following at Assumption Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
