KATHLEEN WHITEWAY (nee KARLOSKE) The family of Kathleen Whiteway announces her peaceful passing on March 25, 2005. Her loving husband Fred predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her son Ray and wife Myrna, grandchildren, Morgan (fiancee Monica Tardi) and Brock, of Winnipeg; son Peter and wife Peggy of Calgary and Scottsdale; daughter Christine and husband Bob Campbell, grandchildren, Shannon, Jonathan, Stephanie of Langley. Kathleen was the youngest of five girls born to Henry and Christine Karloske in The Pas, MB, on August 31, 1920. In 1944 she married the love of her life Fred while he was on active duty during the war. Thereafter, their married life took them to the communities of Rainy River, Atikokan, Port Arthur, Rivers and Melville. During these years they made many lifelong friends. In 1963 they settled in Norwood, living in Winnipeg they were close to their brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces. After Fred retired from his career with the CNR they enjoyed 21 years together. The centre of Kathleen's life was always her husband, home and family. She was an active member of the community and Norwood United Church. She enjoyed frequent travel with Fred to San Diego, Arizona, Langley and Victoria as well as summers at Falcon Lake and Nestor Falls. Kathleen was so very fortunate to be surrounded by her good neighbours of Norwood who were an important part of her life. Thank you to the compassionate staff and students of St. Boniface Hospital, 7A West. Kathleen and Fred are in each other's arms once more. Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope: It can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East, on Wednesday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ken Neufeld officiating. A private family interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G7, Phone: 204-774-4777 or a charity of your choice.
