KATHERINE HAWRYLUK (nee KUMHYR) It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Katherine Hawryluk at Park Manor Personal Care Home on Monday, March 28, 2005 at the age of 99 years. Her memory will be cherished by her grandson Randy Hanker; her great-grandsons, Steven and David all of British Columbia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jacob in 1979 and her daughter Anne Hanker in 1997. Katherine was born on September 30, 1905 in the Ukraine to Anastasia and Nick Kumhyr. She later came to Canada, and in 1921 she married Jacob in Hadashville. She loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, and socializing. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katherine's memory can be made to Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1L7 or to a charity of choice.
