ALFRED PAGE Surrounded by family, Alf peacefully passed away, on March 28, 2005 at Grace Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gail (Dave) Reid and Donna (Frank) Little and son, Denton (Karen) Page (Gunton, MB). He will be deeply missed by his granddaughters, Charlene Reid (Kelowna, BC), Diana (Glen) Emmons, Elaine (Kevin) Stobbe, Suzanne (Rob) Isaac; great-grandchildren, Julia and Jenna (Emmons) and Cassandra (Stobbe); brother-in-law John (Mary) Kindrat (Waterloo, ON). Alf was predeceased by his first wife Leota (1944); second wife Phyllis (1995); and parents, Henry and Ellen. Alf was born June 25, 1911 in Toronto, ON. He attended Humbercrest School and moved to Winnipeg in 1939. He worked for Swift Canadian from 1944 until retirement in 1976. Dad was a faithful servant of St. Andrews River Heights United Church for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of East Kildonan-Transcona Senior Tour Committee. In 1989, while president of the senior centre, he received the Mayor's Volunteer Service Award, presented by Mayor Norrie. Dad planned numerous bus trips to various parts of Canada and the United States. His last three years, while he was a resident of Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street, he was able to enjoy and participate in the many activities. He loved the outings, bingo, theme nights and especially those Sunday night card games. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sheila Domke and Dr. Oscar Domke and the compassionate care of the Grace Hospital staff on 3 West. A private family interment will take place prior to the Celebration of Life Service which will be held at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. on Thursday, March 31 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Terry Hidichuk officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, a donation may be made in memory of Alf to the Elevator Fund at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 3P7 or to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. The Clock Of Life The clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power to tell just when the hand will stop at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own, live, love, and toil with a will, place no faith in tomorrow, for the clock may then be still. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
