THOMAS (TOM) NORMAN WAITE It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Tom Waite, our beloved husband, poppa, brother and friend. Tom is survived by his loving wife Irene of 51 years; daughter Colleen (Marcel); sons, Edward and Thomas (Joy); grandchildren, Justin, Rochelle, Myles, Tyler, Dylan and Chelsea; and sisters, Marge, Dora and Lorna. Tom led a full life, with many experiences and interests. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy travelling the world, then returned to Winnipeg to work for the CPR until his retirement. He was a tinsmith by trade, but there was not a job that Tom could not do. A "Jack of all Trades", best describes Tom, he was forever building, repairing or designing something. Tom was a perfectionist and often said, "If you’re going to do a job, do it right" He was past president, and a life member with the Royal Canadian Legion, Brooklands and Weston Branch, always offering his support and time when called upon. Tom made many new friends in Lac Du Bonnet and became very involved in the community activities, he regularly enjoyed golfing, playing darts and curling. Tom had the "Gift of the Gab" and always had a story to tell, he was quite a character and loved to make you laugh. He also had a serious side and took great pride in himself, and his accomplishments. We will miss him very much. He will forever be in our hearts and memories. And more, much more than this, he did it his way. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 26 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Richard Van Gend and the wonderful nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital for their caring and support. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, R3C 4A6.NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
