Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTONY MACIESZA Anthony Joseph Norbert Tony Maciesza was born Wednesday, October 10, 1951, at The Pas, MB. His life was in this community, taking the time needed to attend Red River Community College in Winnipeg and became a licensed Journeyman Auto Body Mechanic. Automotive was Tony's life, and he took great pride in his work. Tony was involved with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, 303 Squadron and the Stock Car Club. He was a member of The Pas Cross Country Ski Club and enjoyed racing in Flin Flon, Snow Lake and The Pas. Biking was also an enjoyable time for him. Tony learned the art of making willow baskets which he learned from his dad. Tony was united in marriage to Maureen Wanda Crampton, April 27, 1974, at Altamont, MB. His family was very important to him, and also the family pets, Marmalade and MOW. Tony passed away suddenly, Thursday, March 24 at St. Anthony's Hospital, The Pas, aged 53 years. Tony is survived by his wife Maureen; sons, Joseph (Rebecca), Steven; brother John Maciesza; sisters, Anna (Peter) Sribniak, Mary Figsby; mother-in-law Marion Grogan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred (Heather) Crampton, W.T. Grogan, Onalee (Brian) Slobogian, Susanne Crampton; nephews and nieces, Erin Slobogian, Brent (Jenn) Lafreniere, Sonia (John) Vance, Adam Sribniak, Meghan Figsby, Reid Crampton, Andrea and Lauren Crampton, Paul Figsby and Kelly Crampton. Tony was predeceased by his father Walter Maciesza, mother Kazimiera Maciesza, father-in-law Bud Grogan, brother-in-law Robert Crampton, nephew Trevor Slobogian. Prayers and visitation were held Sunday evening, March 27, 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Monday, March 28, 3:00 p.m at Christ Church Anglican with Ven. Grahme Spear presiding. Lay readers were Jim Atkins and Mike Dickens. Music ministry was by Sandra MacDonald and Christ Church Choir. Solo The Dance by Paul Figsby. Family thanksgiving for Tony's Life was given by Robin Reader. Scripture reading by Peter Sribniak. Immediately following the service, a reception was held at Christ Church Parish Hall. Pallbearers were Dale Forster, Brian Harkness, Larry Krys, Perry Nikolychuk, George Sanderson, Alvin Soloway. Honorary Pallbearers were all those present and everyone whose lives Tony has touched. If friends so desire, donations to the Christ Church Memorial Fund, Box 125, The Pas, MB R9A 1K3, or to a charity of choice, would be appreciated by Tony's family.
