Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON (SUSIE) PATRICIA SHUMILAK Peacefully after a short and courageous battle with cancer, Sharon (Susie) Shumilak, passed away into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the age of 60. Left to mourn her passing are her beloved husband of 35 years Robert; children, Robbie (Tickey), Ange (Jerry), Lana (Terry), Debra (Ed) and Kevin (Jennifer); nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Cheryl (Jim), Lynn (Charlie) and Carmen; as well as many nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Rose Sinclair; and infant brother Garwood. Sharon was born in Selkirk, MB and grew up in the Balsam Bay area. In her teens she moved to Beausejour and began her working life as a sewing machine operator. It was during this time Sharon met Robert, they were married and moved to Winnipeg where she continued to work in the garment industry. Sharon and Robert loved to travel. They visited many places in Canada and the United States and recently enjoyed a trip to Mexico, where she taught the Mexican family they visited how to make perogies. Sharon was an avid bingo player and when she could she would take the opportunity to try her luck in some of the locations they visited. Sharon also shared her love of music with her children. She was a kind and gentle person who could make anyone feel comfortable, all you had to do was have a conversation with her and she was your friend. Sharon loved her family and took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all those who's lives she touched. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Fr. Gerry Ward officiating. A viewing to be held one half hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garson, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
