MICHAEL GAWRYLIUK On Monday, March 28, 2005, Michael Gawryliuk, aged 78 years of Beausejour passed away at the Beausejour Health Centre. Mike was born on June 10, 1926 on the family farm near the village of Gorlitz, SK. He was the eldest of three children. Mike received his education at East Wexford and Cedric Schools. He moved to Sudbury, ON in 1946 and was employed by INCO. There he met and married his wife Nettie (nee Choptian). Mike and Nettie were blessed with their first child and moved to Uranium City, SK in 1956 where their second child was born. In 1965 the family moved to Sifton, MB to begin a new life in farming. After the death of his wife Nettie, Mike remarried and was blessed with two more children. Mike had a very strong work ethic that he passed onto his children. He made many personal sacrifices working extra hours to provide a good home and life for his family. In his retirement, Mike enjoyed listening to the Zabava program, dancing and the company of his friends and family. His favourite pastimes included walking, baking bread and checking the prices at the local Co-op. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Rick), Darcy (Laurie), Charlene (Sheldon) and Vincent (Lisa); grandchildren, Adam (Dale), Derek (Kim), Kara (Eric), Amanda (Graham), Melissa; great-grandchildren, Derrick, Mackenzie, Mitchell and Jeremy; sister Lena (Edward) Ostafie. He was predeceased by his first wife Nettie; sister Mary Filipchuk; and parents, Helen and Henry Kobylka. Funeral service will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m with Pastor Roland Rendall officiating with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at Beausejour Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Katcher, Derek Katcher, Rick Pearse, Eric Matheson, Larry Wozny and James Tichnor. In lieu of Flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Michael's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. We will miss you Dad; your words of wisdom, sense of humour and especially the stories of the 'old days' which are part of the legacy and history you have passed onto your family.
