JANE BUTLER (nee ERSKINE) October 12, 1905 - March 24, 2005 On March 24, 2005, with family by her side, Jane completed her journey here on earth and joyfully returned home to her Father in heaven. Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband Ernie in 1973. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James (Doreen) of Ottawa, Richard (Kathy) of Victoria, BC; and daughter Joan Turner (Bill) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Dr. Deborah Butler (Michael Power) of Toronto, Jeffrey Butler (Marnie) of St. Catharines, Michael Butler (Alanna Thain) of Montreal, Megan Butler (Cameron Tucker) of Calgary, Shauna Turner (Mark Bray) and Vicki Charski (Mike) of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Graham and Amanda Butler-Power, Sara Butler and Nicole Tokarwski. Jane was born in Londonderry, N. Ireland, coming to Canada at age 19. She worked at Eaton's Dept. Store in Winnipeg. She met her husband Ernie in Winnipeg where they married and raised their family. The family gives thanks to the staff at Oakview Personal Care Home, who became her other family from 1990 to 2005. Thanks also to the nurses and doctors at Grace Hospital who gave her such good care and kindness and gave the family such support and consideration during her last days on earth.
