Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE MASON HALLWORTH Peacefully, on March 27, 2005, with his wife Carole at his side, George passed away at the age of 84, at Selkirk General Hospital. George will be remembered lovingly by his wife Carole Belanger; daughter Janys Classen of Bakersfield, CA; son Gerry (Michele Lemoing) of Winnipeg; stepdaughter Linda Clifford (Brian) of Medicine Hat and stepsons, Lawrence Belanger (Marcia Thompson) of Selkirk and Ronald Belanger of Winnipeg. His memory also will be cherished by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Janet Madeline (Ireland); his brother Jack; and son-in-law Gary Classen. George was born in Connecticut and moved at a young age first to Winnipeg and then to Selkirk. He served in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and worked at the Selkirk Mental Health Hospital until his retirement in 1980. George was an active member of the Army, Navy Air Force Veterans club and greatly enjoyed attending the Steeler hockey games. George enjoyed his time at the trailer in the Whiteshell, first at Otter Falls and then at Dorothy Lake. Family and many friends will remember the nights around the campfire at his site. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Fuchs and to the hospital staff for the wonderful care and kindness that they gave George. Cremation has taken place with later interment at Little Britain Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, McLean and Eveline, Selkirk, on Tuesday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the charity of your choice.
