SYBIL FRANCES GERULA (CAIRNS) Sybil, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the Dryden General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ray Cairns in 1957; second husband Peter Gerula in 1991; son Russell Cairns in 1996; her parents Emy and Leo Bjorkman and five sisters. Left to mourn are her sons, Wayne, David and Donald Cairns; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Mabel Bjorkman of California; sister Verna Nelson of Winnipeg; brother Allan Bjorkman of Toronto and many nieces and nephews. Sybil was born in Great Falls, Manitoba on September 10, 1927. She spent most of her early years in Winnipeg before moving to Dryden, Ontario in 1961 where she resided until her demise. Abiding by Sybil's wishes, there will not be a service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Sybil's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba (675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB , R3E 0V9). In charge of arrangements is Dryden Community Funeral Home (249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, Ont. P8N 2X3).
