Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY ROSENBY Peacefully on March 14, 2005 Harry Rosenby passed away at the Sharon Home. He was predeceased by our mother Fay in 1971; infant daughter Dianne; parents, Charles and Liebe Rosenburg; brothers, Max, Louis and sister Pearl. He is survived by his beloved wife Helene; sons, Martin (Diane), Gerald (Susan); stepson Ernie Neufeld (Margie); grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Stephen, many nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain. Dad was born in Leicester, England on June 28, 1908. At the age of six he moved to Scotland, lived in Glasgow and later Dunfermline and for a short period lived in Belfast, Ireland. During this period he earned his living as a painter, estate broker, professional boxer and gifted salesman. After marrying our mother Fay, he returned to school to become a licensed optician before entering the British Army where he served in the medical corp. during the Second World War. After the war he became a furrier before immigrating to Canada in 1953 along with his elder brother Max. They opened a building products franchise in Winnipeg and later became one of the original tin men. After Mom's passing in 1971 he soon retired and married his second wife Helene where they enjoyed many winters in Margate, Florida and Hawaii along with most memorable times with his friends golfing, fishing and playing cards. He was especially proud of his grandsons whose development and education he closely monitored with enthusiasm. His last wishes were that we look after Helene and with life fulfilled Dad passed away in his sleep leaving us a legacy of stories and humour to be carried on for many generations. The family would like to thank the staff at the Portsmouth Retirement Home, the Sharon Home and especially Dr. David Meyrowitz for his dedication, compassion and unbelievable patience. Funeral services were officiated by Rabbi Balser at the Congregation Etz Chaim on March 16. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Michael, Matthew and Stephen, David Devere, Ken Jacob and Jack Katz. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
