WENDY CAROLYN COLBORNE (nee GARDNER) Surrounded by her loving family, Wendy peacefully slipped away from us on March 30, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 52 years. Wendy was predeceased by her mother Peggy in 1998. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 20 years Peter; her father William; sister Linda (John) Brant; nephew Derek (Liz) Brant; niece Sheylene (Dave) King and her great-nephew Brant King, whom she held so close to her heart. She will also be lovingly missed by her in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Wendy was born and raised in Winnipeg, and was employed by Great West Life since 1973. Wendy enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time at the cottage in Matlock. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in Emergency and Ward A1 at the Health Sciences Centre for their concern and compassion they demonstrated for Wendy and her family. A special thank you to Doreen, her special friend of 47 years and her husband Murray. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. with reception to follow in the E. J. Coutu Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Wendy's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB or to a charity of one's choice.
