Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY MAY (O'NEILL) STANCOVE (nee DAY) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruby on Friday, April 1, 2005 after her courageous battle with Alzheimers. Ruby is lovingly remembered by her children, Karin Johnstone (Neil), Richard O'Neill (Emilia), Colleen O'Neill and Bradford O'Neill. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby is survived by siblings, Vera Kelter (Ben), Marguerite Wood (George), Muriel Haas, Georgia Tooth (Ernie), Lois Ertle and Edward Day (Elizabeth). Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and George Day and her husbands, Ambrose (Ginger) O'Neill and Jack Stancove. Born May 13, 1921 in St. John's, NFLD, Ruby moved to Winnipeg shortly after her marriage and spent her life being a devoted wife and mother. Following Ambrose's untimely death in 1967, Ruby raised her children with patience and grace - qualities that persevered through her illness. Special thanks go to all the staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg whose compassion and care made our mother's final journey one of comfort. To Chris, Marsha and Richard - you are testimony to this: In the end only kindness matters. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Ave., Tuesday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow, reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, (204) 943-6622.
