DWIGHT B. WILDE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight Bernard Wilde, aged 54, with family by his side at St. Boniface Hospital on April 1, 2005. Predeceased by his father Dan and survived by his mother Mary, brother Guy and sister Alison. Dwight lived in and around Oak Bank all his life. He attended Oak Bank School, Springfield Collegiate and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Manitoba. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout, playing Santa Claus, watching movies at home with loved ones, volunteering at the Winnipeg Symphony, playing digger games and giving the toys to kids, but most of all he enjoyed meeting and talking with people. He has worked at the Oak Bank RCMP detachment, Robinson Little, Spring Hill, the Grace Hospital and most recently with Manitoba Lotteries. He will long be remembered for his many years supervising the park gate and campground at Birds Hill Park. A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at Green Acres Funeral Home officiated by Terry Sellen. Private interment with immediate family will follow. If desired memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation. Please consider signing your organ donor card. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Almost 9 years have passed since Dwight had to leave us. He has been in my thoughts many times over the years. We had some really good conversations Dwight. You will always be remembered. Your friend, and world traveler, Lisa - Posted by: Lisa (Rogers) on: Dec 14, 2013

  • Dwight was a childhood friend of mine and I am very saddened to read of his passing. As I remember Dwight, he always had a friendly smile and a kind word for everyone. I remember Dwight as having to take over the 'dad' role in his family when his father died at such a young age, and the pride he had when speaking of Guy or Alison. Rest in Peace, my old friend. - Posted by: Cameron McLEOD, Sr. (Childhood friend) on: Feb 19, 2012

  • Diane and I wish to express our sincere sympathies to the Wilde family. Our thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Robert Gauthier (Family) on: Apr 23, 2005
