MINNIE LAMOUREUX On Friday, April 1, 2005 with her loving family by her side, the angels came for Minnie Lamoureux, aged 104. Minnie is survived by Evelyn (Louis), Dorothy (Leslie), Edward (Arlene), Ilene (Lou), Bernard (Elsie); 65 grandchildren; 112 great-grandchildren; 70 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Minnie was predeceased by her husband Frank; son Lenard (Elsie); and grandchildren, Randal, Lloyd, Adele, Dennis, Charlie, Lorne, Chris, Jordon, Jamie, Sheryl, Jerry and Ella Katrien. Minnie was born on September 9, 1900 at Cold Springs, MB. She was an active member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church. She farmed for many years in the Oak Point District. She enjoyed her vegetable garden, canning, picking berries and flower garden. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, needle work and knitting. She enjoyed being with people of any age. She liked listening to old time music, camping, fishing, watching curling and travelling. The highlight of Minnie's life was being with family. Minnie enjoyed life to the fullest. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Burnet for the many years of caring and to the staff at Eriksdale Hospital for the care in her short hospital stay. A very special thanks to all the home care staff who provided such loving care and support to Minnie. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at the Lundar Legion Hall with Fr. Rene and Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with an interment to be held at a later date at the Lily Bay Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her two granddaughters, Glenda Farthing and Brenda Law. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a donation in Minnie's memory may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of one's choice.
