DENIS A. VOURIOT September 10, 1955 - March 31, 2005 It is with the deepest sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our husband, father, brother, uncle and Alexandar's Pepere. Denis is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Diane (nee Berard). He will be greatly missed by his children, Denis Jr., Monique (Don), Chantal and by his grandson Alex. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his cherished mother Denise; brothers and sisters, Lucille (Emile), Roland (Rose-Marie), Therese (Gordon), Rose (Don), Gilles, Aline (Chuck) and Marcel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Denis was predeceased by his father Eugene in 1998 and by his sister Aline in 1957. Denis was born in La Salle, MB and resided there all of his life. He married his wife Diane in the church in La Salle and they raised their family on Denis's great-grandfather's land. His greatest joys were his family and the large gatherings after football or baseball games which he enjoyed so much. Denis also enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking as well as helping anyone in their time of need. After high school, Denis was employed by Versatile Equipment until 2002. He then went on to odd jobs until his most recent employment with Etch-Marc Inc. in La Salle. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #4, St. James Branch. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the Victoria Hospital ICU and to Dr. Griffin, as well as the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital SICU, especially Dr. Guzman. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 5 at the La Salle Roman Catholic Church in La Salle, MB at 11:00 a.m. Interment of Denis's cremated remains will take place at a later date. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage To see another day You didn't deserve what you went through Your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting Until the very end God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So he put His arms around you And whispered Come to Me We know while you're in Heaven You'll have a place to rest God's garden must be beautiful For now he has the Best. • Ah Denis!!! What can I say? You were my 'brother' and my friend... You treated me like a person and a loved one.... Always fatherly and brotherly when I needed to hear words of love, whether they be words firmness or tender you always took the time to really listen... I really, really miss you Denis... You were the brother I never had in my own brothers... I miss your teasing, your laughter, you're words of wisdom learned through your life.. You were always fair and respectful with a heart full of love for the family or friends you held dearly to your heart.. I remember the last conversation we had where you chastised me and told me I had not the right to decide who loved me or not and that you and Diane only had that right to make when it came to my life decisions... You touched my heart deeply and you expected respect and gave respect in every and all situations... I still miss you Denis and my hope is that you are sleeping in Jesus Christ right now so that you are having peace.... LOVE YOU Denis!!! xoxoxoxo - Posted by: Nicole (Sister-in-law) on: Oct 31, 2016
