JOHN MATHIAS FLETT (WEM-SHOOZ NA-SAY-MA ASIN) Suddenly on Sunday, April 3, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre, John Mathias Flett, of St. Theresa Point First Nation, passed away at the age of 66 years. John was born at St. Theresa Point on October 22, 1938, where he had resided most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and trapping. John was a carpenter and was the airport manager at St. Theresa Point. He was working for the Aboriginal Healing Foundation and had spent many years in administration while employed for the St. Theresa Point Band and the Island Lake Tribal Council. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his wife Pauline Margaret Flett; children, Elvin (Denise), Shirley (Larry), Delores (Byron), Natalie (Alpheus), Lloyd (Charlene), Ella (Timmy), Lisa (Jamie), Sharon and baby Lisa; five sisters, Theresa McDougall, Rosa Monias, Margaret Wood, Gertrude Monias and Mariam Wood; 32 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Jonah and Adele; first wife Clara Jane Flett; three brothers, Michael, Simon and Roland; two sisters, Florence Mason and Priscilla Mason; and one great-grandchild Gabriel Flett. Prayers were said on Monday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. Wake services were held on Tuesday, April 5 and will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at St. Theresa Point. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Point Roman Catholic Church, St. Theresa Point, MB, with Fr. Robert Laroche officiating.
