She was predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl Gurman; sons, Brian, Bradley, Ray and Tommy; brothers, Bill, Henry and John and her sister Olga. She was born in Arabakka, MB (Vita) on January 18, 1923, moving to Winnipeg to work in 1942. It was here she met Clifford and they were married on April 23, 1944 and together they moved to Victoria Beach where they lived and raised their family. Mary loved to cook, garden, play bingo and go on trips to the Shooting Star. Mom's commitment and devotion to the lives of her husband and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her priority and she relentlessly over came many barriers in support of their happiness. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generosity, kindness, and friendliness to all who came through her door, no one ever left her home hungry. We have so many treasured memories and you are in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Michaels Church in Victoria Beach with Ron Hampton officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Victoria Beach Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Todd Chapel, Timothy Cranen, David Borlase, Nicholas and Clifford Joseph, Brian Joseph and Clifford and Greg Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Garnett Sleeman, Jason Chapel, Rocky and Cory Gurman, Ken Gurman, Scott and Glen Stephens, Darrell and Rod Gurman and Dwayne Lekei. If friends so desire, donations in Mary's memory can be made to the Sunnywood Manor in Pine Falls, MB. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Pine Falls Hospital. We will forever be indebted to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU at the Health Sciences Centre for providing mom with the best care, kindness and dignity that only a family could provide. We would also like to thank moms neighbours for all their care and helpfulness they have given her especially in this past two years. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
