Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE VIOLA MAY COOK (nee OSLAND) Peacefully, on Monday, April 4, 2005, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Olive Cook, passed away at Concordia Hospital, with her family by her side, at the age of 86 years. Olive was predeceased by her husband Alf Cook in 1982; her sister Elsie and brothers, Mel (Inez), Les, John and Wally. She is lovingly survived by her children, Evelyn Smith, Jim (Gloria) and Judy (Jon) Dack; grandchildren, Kenna (Warren), Heather (Dan) Jeffrey and Justin; great-grandchildren, Desiree and Michelle. She is also survived by her brother, Norm (Marg) Osland; sisters-in-law, Doreen Osland of Spruce Grove, AB, Doreen Osland of Winnipeg, and Emily Osland of Vancouver. Numerous nieces and nephews will also cherish her memory. Mom took great delight in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly adored. She had a knack for crafts, and was an avid knitter, knitting for the Christmas Cheer Board for many years. She enjoyed visits with her neighbours at the building she resided in, and always looked forward to the weekly Coffee Group . Mom took time out everyday to call her good friend Nan, and her sister-in-law Inez. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Blue Jays and the Bombers, and curling. She will be deeply missed. A special thank you is extended to the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital Emergency for their excellent care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East and Navin Road. A private family interment to take place in Green Acres Cemetery. In Olive's memory, memorial donations can be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 155 Bannerman, Winnipeg, MB R2W 0T3, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
