JOHN HUTNIAK December 11, 1922 - April 6, 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Beausejour Hospital, John Hutniak passed away at the age of 82. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mary of 59 years; his children Don (Bonny), David (Sandra), daughter-in-law Heather; grand-children, Sara and Lisa; Kristin, Jennifer, and Jeffrey; Carol (James) and Thomas; sisters, Margaret, Teenie and Elsie; numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his son Myron in 1992; sister Anne and parents, Harry and Mary. Dad was born in Brokenhead, MB. He was a long-time truck driver, farmer and Agassiz School Division bus driver. He lived on the family farm until Mom and Dad moved to Beausejour in 1989. Dad was a dedicated parishioner of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Whether it be helping out at church bingos or serving as an executive member on church council, if there was a need, he was always the first to lend a helping hand. Being a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and Grand Knight of the Beausejour Council brought Dad much enjoyment. He participated in numerous Knights events, like volunteering at blood donor clinics, basketball free throw competitions, community road-side clean-up, and even up until his passing, he was always looking forward to the next annual Ukrainian Malanka. Whatever the task, Dad always took great pride in the various organizations he belonged to. Dad will be thoroughly missed by all of his family. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Cremation will follow as per Dad's wishes. Pallbearers will be friends and brother Knights, John Klimchuk, Mike Kaminski, Paul Murash, Alex Burlak, Roger Klym and Gerry Antymis. Honorary pallbearers will be 4th Degree Knights of Columbus members. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dad's memory may be made to the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church.
