HALMUTH ERIC SCHAEFER September 13, 1935 - April 6, 2005 It is with great sadness we announce that Hal Schaefer, loving husband of Connie Peltz Schaefer passed away on April 6, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre with all his family by his side. Hal will be missed by his children, Rose Robinson (Keith), Romano Schaefer, Mario Schaefer (Leslie), Mandy Schaefer (Scott), Corinne Peltz, Lori Peltz; as well as 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Hal was predeceased by his son Christopher Peltz. Hal was an extremely well liked man by anyone who had the opportunity to meet him. Hal immigrated to Canada in 1957 with nothing but a tremendous spirit and his young family. He made a wonderful life for his growing family with hard work and dedication. His wonderful zest for life touches us all and there will be a void in our lives that will never be filled. Hal spent his last 17 years before retirement at Black Macdonald and will be greatly missed by all of the staff that he referred to as his (boys and girls). Dad our hearts and souls will be with you for eternity and we know you are watching over us from heaven. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Thank you to all the wonderful staff in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, and the Emergency Response Team whom made Hal and his family as comfortable as possible. Their extreme efforts and professionalism will be remembered always. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart Stroke Foundation. My husband, my grandpa, my great-grandpa, our father, our hero, our friend. There is a bridge of golden memories, From here to heaven above. That keeps you very close to us, It's called the bridge of love. Your memory is our keepsake, With which we'll never part. God has you keeping, We have you in our hearts. Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near. We will always hold his memory dear. If tears could build a stairway And memories a lane, We would walk right up to heaven, To be with you again. Always loved and sadly missed, by your loving family and friends.
