JEAN MCQUEEN ROSS R.N., R.T., retired December 26, 1915 - April 2, 2005 Peacefully, on Saturday, April 2, 2005, Jean passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 89 years. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Grace and James B. Ross; sister Isobel; and brother William. Born in Saskatchewan, Jean graduated from High School in Govan, SK. She attended St. Paul's Hospital School of Nursing in Saskatoon, graduating in 1936. Jean nursed in various locations in and around Watrous, SK, and at the Nokomis Hospital. In the mid 1950s, she moved to Winnipeg and was employed at the St. Boniface Hospital. Jean then transferred to the Deer Lodge Veteran Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1974. Jean loved to travel, visiting many places in various countries, one being her ancestral home in Scotland. She enjoyed very much the many visits from her friends at her home. Jean will be missed by many. In compliance with Jean's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Interment will take place in the family plot in Govan, SK, at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to a charity of one's choice.
