IRWEN (ERNIE) EDMUND FROLICK 1923 - 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank, MB. He will be lovingly remembered by wife Anna (Kristiansen); children, Ronald (Colette) Frolick, Bruce (Bev) Frolick, Maureen Frolick, Diane Frolick (Sean Espey); grandchildren, Garry, Chris, Louise, Matthew, Emma and Molly; sisters, Eda Papineau, Dryden, ON, Irene Zdrill, Edmonton, AB, Edna Collins, Kenora, ON, and Ellice Rintoul, Saskatoon, SK. He will be also missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Irwen was predeceased by his sisters, Edlin Delaloye, Eleanor Zieske and Elma Froehlich; brothers, Eduard and Robert Froehlich. Irwen was born in Beausejour, MB, July 8, 1923, to parents, Eduard Froehlich and Olga Eckert. As a young man, Irwen worked on farms for family and friends. He later went to work in the logging camps in Red Lake, ON. Irwen served during the Second World War in Williams Lake, BC. Irwen enjoyed an industrious 31 year career with Maple Leaf Construction until his retirement in 1987. He spent his spare time farming and raising his family in the Dugald area. Irwen's favorite past time was working the field using his TD-9 tractor. Irwen and Anna could also be seen going for a drive in the country in his Ford pickup. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home and Misericordia Hospital where Irwen resided for the winter of 2002 - 2003. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. Russell Funeral Homes, 437 Park Ave. W., Beausejour, MB. A remembrance service will be held on Monday, April 11 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cook's Creek, MB, with Father Sebastian Gacki officiating. Interment to follow at Beausejour Cemetery. Lunch after at Rec. Hall in Beausejour.
