Left to cherish her memory are her children, Agnes (Elmer) Meade, Janet (Walt) Hayes, Hazel (Norman) Watson, Peter (Edith), Paul (Pam) and daughter-in-law Linda; her grandchildren, Cheryl (Barry) Zawislak, Cathy (Michel) Joseph, Kim, Scott (Crystal), Trevor (Cindy) Watson, Cindy (Steve) Playter, Scott (Leanne), Dayton (Judy), Lance (Christine), Anthony and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Michael Zawislak, Chace and Cort Joseph, Tavie Watson, Brandy and Hallie Playter, Cole, Kaden, and Tamika Barenz, Donovon, Kassandra and Amy Barenz. She was predeceased by her husband John Anthony in 1969; sister Agnes; son Johnny in 2002; and daughters-in-law, Edna and Margaret and son-in-law Hal. Mother was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She enjoyed her time spent with longtime friends at the 55 Club. In her younger years she was an active volunteer for various organizations: The Anglican W.A., Headingley Ladies Auxiliary for the Employment Preparation Center and she was an Honorary member of the Charleswood Historical Society. Mother resided most of her life in Headingley. Her simple life centered around her home where she spent countless hours working in her yard. She was devoted to her family and could always be counted on for a helping hand or a sympathetic ear. Heartfelt thanks to those special friends who made her life a little easier, especially the Pearns. A funeral service will be held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Monday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. and a reception at the Headingley Community Centre will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire donations may be made in her memory to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 5335 Portage Ave., Headingley, MB R0H 0J0.
