CECIL P. DECKER Suddenly, yet peacefully, on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, Cecil P. Decker passed away at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 87 years. Foremost among those left to remember this happy, wonderful man, is his beloved wife of 64 years, Hilda. Dad always believed he had won the wife lottery. Dad's memory is also cherished by his sons, Glen (Sylvia), Clint and Doug; grandchildren he adored, Jennifer, Heidi (Michel), Sara (Alex), Adam, Matt, and Amanda; and brand-new great-granddaughter Katrina will be told of the kindness of a man who never had the opportunity to meet her. Left with special memories are Dad's sister Dell; brother Gerald; and their families. Even though Dad lived in Winnipeg for over 60 years, he always spoke with pride of his early years on the family farm in Decker, MB. While Dad was proud of his 42 years at Canada Packers, it wasn't his work that defined him. He loved his family above all else, and his family returned that love unconditionally. Throughout his life, Dad had the gift of making people smile, and our family would like to express our thanks to the people who in turn made Dad happy. Special thanks to his golf buddies and the considerate staff at the Assiniboine Golf Club. Finally, Glen and Doug would like to express their limitless appreciation to Dad for the kindness, care and love he showed every day to our brother. Cec Decker was a genuinely nice man. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Cec's life will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Assiniboine Golf Club, 2045 Ness Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cec's memory may be made to the Special Olympics Manitoba Inc., 200 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4M2.
