GARRY OMICHINSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Omichinski on Thursday, April 7, 2005. Left with cherished memories are Florence (nee Lashek) wife of 36 years; sons, Kyle (Stefanie) and Matthew. Garry is also survived by his mother Evelyn Omichinski and his siblings, Ethel (Tom), David (Marlene), Bob (Linda), Clifford (Anne); brothers-in-law, Clarence (Gail), Larry (Donna). He was predeceased by his father Victor in 1972; father-in-law John in 1978 and mother-in-law Josie Lashek in 1979. Garry was born in Beausejour on October 18, 1948. Married in 1968 and moved to Winnipeg in 1969, where they lived and raised their family. He worked in construction for 30 years, the last four years he worked for Barnhart Transport. A celebration of Garry's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 11 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with Father Walter Klemchuk and Father Mark Gnutel officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews, Allen, Candice, Ryan Omichinski, Janel Gilbert, Daphne Mertins, Jennifer, Michael, Kelvin and Derek Lashek and their families. A private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Garry's wish was to give back to the community. Donations may be made in memory of Garry to the River East Transcona Keep Them In School Foundation , in care of B. Saunders, 797 Harbison Avenue East, Winnipeg R2K 0Z4.
