MARIA HOGAN (nee DESCOTEAUX) It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Maria Hogan at Golden Links Lodge on Friday, April 8, 2005, at the age of 92 years. Maria was especially caring and loving of all of her grandchildren with whom she spent many hours. She also loved crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard Hogan; infant daughter Rose Marie; brothers, Victor and Louis Descoteaux; and sister Lucienne Mahe. She is survived by daughter Patricia (Bernard) Chaput of Wisconsin; and son Louis (Penny) Hogan of Calgary; and by her sisters, Yvette Heathcote of Quebec, Cecile (Tony) Kuzyk of British Columbia, Therese Wrightman of Ontario, Yvonne Philion of Manitoba; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Tara (Giles) LaRochelle and Darcie Hogan of Calgary, Sean (Lori Ann) Hogan and Christopher (Jolene) Hogan of Winnipeg, Lisa (Richard) Pye and Julie (Brett) Todd of Illinois, David (Cindy) Chaput of Alaska and Jennifer and Matthew Chaput of Wisconsin. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Braden, Cody, Sara, Emma, Trevor, Chloe, Colin, Michael, Benjamin and Elena. Special thanks to family and friends, in particular, Francoise and Len Gauthier, Lucille Gorowski, Bill McConnell, Yvonne Philion and Vic Pinchin who spent many hours visiting with Maria. A grateful thank you to all of the staff at Golden Links Lodge who tended so compassionately to her needs. To Fr. Lucien Roy and Deacon Jean Fontaine, thank you for being there when the family needed you. Prayers will be held on Monday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the E.J Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St., Winnipeg. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St. in Norwood (corner of Enfield Crescent and Traverse Street) on Tuesday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m., Fr. Lucien Roy officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2.
