JOAO VIEIRA October 6, 1916 - April 8, 2005 Peacefully on April 8, 2005, Joao passed away at the age of 88 years at the Lion's Personal Care Centre. Joao is survived by his daughter Belina (Joao); sons, Delfino (Madalena) and Sebastiao (Arminda); grandchildren, Angelo (Bela), Carla (Paulo), Nelson (Evangelina), Sabrina, Carlos (Paola) and Madalena; great-grandchildren, Noah and Alessia; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Maria da Conceicao, three brothers and two sisters. Joao was born in Portugal and came to Canada in 1972. He worked hard in the construction industry until retirement. The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor at the Lion's Manor for all their care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros as celebrant. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joao's memory to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba.
