Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES ELIZABETH ALBERTSON (LOWE) Peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2005, Agnes Albertson, aged 88, passed away at the Gimli Community Health Centre with her family at her side. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Larus (Larry) in 1995; her parents, John and Hanna Lowe; and brothers, Archie, Murray and Gordon. She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Francine) and Glenn of Gimli; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Theresa (Welly) and Kevin (Janine); great-grandchildren, Catherine, Jessica, Harris and Saryn. She also leaves her nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Agnes was born March 8, 1917 in Alexander, MB, on the family farm, Ridgewood Farms. She received her education at the Dalton and Alexander schools. She worked in Brandon until her marriage to Larry in 1952 when she relocated to Gimli. Until 1995 she kept the books for the family business, Albertson Construction. She was Gimli's Welcome Wagon Hostess for many years. She was accredited with making the first Welcome Wagons Vacationers Visit in Canada. She loved working in her large garden, which supplied her family with vegetables all winter long. The family would like to thank Dr. Chapnick and the staff of Betel (Gimli) for the wonderful care that they gave her over the last four years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gimli Animal Shelter would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB, with Pastor Rainie McKinnon officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
