ROSE SHWALUK It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of Rose at the age of 85 on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at her place of residence, Charleswood Care Centre, following a lengthy illness. Rose was born on November 20, 1919, in Valley River, MB, moving with her family to Dauphin at an early age. She received her education in Dauphin, and following the successful completion of a business course, was employed with the Bank of Nova Scotia in Dauphin and Winnipeg for many years. Rose enjoyed her home and garden, and was very proud to share her bountiful harvest with family and friends. She will be remembered for her many kind-nesses and deep faith. She was a wonderful person and a true friend. Rose was a member of St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Women's League, and prior to her illness in 1992, was very actively involved in making perogies and cabbage rolls for church activities. Rose was predeceased by her husband Alexander; daughter Joanne (Gauthier); brothers, Fred, Bill and Walter Derkatz; and sisters, Oive Pich and Mary Pochinko. She is survived by sisters Lena Munday (Brandon) and Isabel Wawruck (Winnipeg), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Ave., Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM presiding. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Charleswood Care Centre for the excellent care Rose received while a resident at the Centre. Rose - we will miss you, but you will always be in our hearts. Vichnaya Pam'Yat Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
