THOMAS ZACHARKIW October 3, 1917 - April 6, 2005 Suddenly after a brief illness and a broken heart, Tom 87, died peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital joining his beloved Kotyk Kay who passed away January 14. Tom leaves to mourn his daughter Irene (Wally) Makowski; son Jim; grandchildren, Jimmy, Jamie, Terri, Samantha; great-grandchild Kaylyn; sister Ann; brother Mike; sister-in-law Mary Kuz; nieces, nephews and friends. After leaving the Canadian Armed Forces, he and mom moved to Winnipeg from their farm in Frazerwood. Being a butcher by trade he spent many years with the Royal Alex Hotel and then with Central Meats. Upon retirement he enjoyed his yard and garden and was the family handyman. Dad loved tinkering with bikes, working on his car and was ready with a helping hand for all. Dad will always be remembered for his caring ways and happy times with Mom and his family. A cup of coffee and a chat with family or friends in his backyard was all he needed to make his day. Thank you to Drs., Boyd, Gupta and all nursing staff for their excellent care. Special thanks to Lisa and Joseph for always helping the family cope during this difficult time. At Tom's request, no formal service will be held. Prayers and cremation have taken place. Lovingly Remembered
