LINDA FLORENCE STRUVE 1951 - 2005 It is with a Heavy Heart, I announce the passing of Our Linda Struve. Linda was born April 15, 1951 in Thunder Bay, ON, the caring and loving daughter of Ms. Clara Skoglund. She was predeceased by her father, Howard Struve and brother Rod. Linda will be sadly missed by her cat Midnight; cousins, Howie, Leslie, Kelly, Jane and Jim Harty, Jim Jr. Harty, Quenton, Damon, Lindsay / Cathy, Doug, LeaAnn and Tommy Kernaghan. She will also be missed by countless friends and neighbours, including Brian and Sharon Bencharski, friend of 30 years, Val / Errol, Ann, Ron and Troy Ruhr, John / Eleanor Kozachuk, Doug / Doreen at One Stop Diving, Bill and Shirley Hayward, Brian and Jackie Frazer, David Milgaard and family, Helen Tomiak, Dr. Harnett, Dr. Kathy Ross, Joyce and Henry, Lucy, Gloria Rose Ball, Lucy, Andrea, Kevin, Meno, Greg and Boyd and everyone at the Royal George Hotel and countless others... You know who you are. I will remember my Lovely Linda best as a soulmate, for her zest of life and her love and appreciation of music. I have treasured Linda for her excellence in her craftwork, artistic imagination and attention to detail. I treasure the memory of our trips to the Caribbean, Mexico, U.S.A. and across Canada. I treasure the times we danced, laughed, loved and cried. I have mentioned one word more than once, because she was truly my treasure . One of Linda's Moms most cherished memories is the first time she held Linda in her arms. After being in an incubator for the first weeks of her life (being three pounds, five ounces), the nurse noticed this baby was constantly crying. She let Clara hold her for the first time, and Linda looked at her Mom with these big, beautiful eyes and quit crying. The nurse responded, She hears your voice, and she knows you are her mother, that is when she quit crying . That happened in 1951. I would also like to thank everyone at CancerCare, Health Sciences Centre and GD 6 Ward for your care, compassion and dedication. You are truly remarkable. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare and/or the Humane Society for her love of animals. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. A celebration of Linda's life to follow at The Royal George Hotel , 123 Regent Ave. West, Transcona. Love and peace to all, Gary Rawlins. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

  • Although Linda was a second cousin, she felt more like an aunt. A person I looked up to and respected. Her smiles, laughter, outlook on life and work ethic are just but a few things I admired her for. Linda may have left us physically, but she will never leave the hearts of those she has touched. You will be missed. - Posted by: Jim Harty jr (Family) on: Apr 25, 2005
