                            PAUL COURTEAU
Born: Aug 29, 1926
Date of Passing: Apr 10, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL COURTEAU On Sunday, April 10, 2005, the angels started singing because Paul, most beloved husband of Rolande (nee Remillard) and adored father, has gone Home to be reunited with his mother and father and his many siblings. We cherished our father beyond words and for that reason he will be greatly missed by his children, Paulette (Claude), Louis, Jackie, Denis (Dawn), Daniel (Diane); and his grandchildren, Dan, Dominique (Dan), Kenneth and Marc; great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Kaitlyn and Alycia; as well as other family members and friends. Paul was born on August 29, 1926 to Eugenie and Francois-Xavier Courteau, the fifth of 12 children. His childhood was filled with fun, laughter and a lot of teasing which was passed down to us. As a young man, he joined the Merchant Marines and later the St. Boniface Fire Department. It wasn't long before Dad became captain where he was respected by his men. We were extremely proud that Dad's profession allowed him not only to save homes and businesses, but most importantly, lives. Dad met Mom on Valentine's Day at his family's home and he asked her to marry him that very night. They were married on May 7, 1949 of that same year. Their whirlwind marriage turned out to be a 55 year love affair. Our dad had many accomplishments and joys in his life such as winning numerous Fire Fighter Fishing Derbies, and spending summers out at the family cottage at Falcon Lake where he taught us all to swim, to fish and play crib, among other things. However, his greatest accomplishment was being our dad and a loving, devoted husband to our mom. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Ron Leger at the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. in St. Boniface on Thursday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. Interment of Paul's cremated remains will take place in St. Boniface Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
