MATHEW EDWARD DYLAN DARICHUK Unexpectedly on April 10, 2005, Mathew Darichuk, aged 30 years, of Beausejour, died suddenly. Mathew was born on February 4, 1975 to parents Donna Toews (Sveinson) and Edward Darichuk Jr. in Matsquie, BC. He grew up in Selkirk and attended school there and later in Winnipeg. He met Sabrina Camplin and they were married in 1997. Together, they had three beautiful children. They resided in East Selkirk, however needing more space and following Mathew's love for nature and the country, the Darichuks moved just north of Beausejour onto a ranch. The family had many animals that they cared for and had a particular fondness for dogs and cats. Mathew was quite the homebody, spending most of his time with his children, caring for the animals and tinkering around his shop. He was considerably industrious and enjoyed being productive, always having ideas and projects on the go. Mathew was a good friend, always willing to lend a helping hand to a buddy. He was quite sociable, always having visitors at the ranch. Most recently Mathew was working out in Alberta on the oil rigs. He loved the hard work and the fact he was providing for his family. Mathew was predeceased by his stepfather Peter Toews and grandparents Bernice and Allan Sveinson. He is survived by his beloved children Joshua, 8, Alissa, 6 and Brooke, 4; his mother Donna Toews; father Edward Darichuk Jr.; sister Sara Toews and brother Devon Sigurdson of British Columbia. He also leaves behind his Godparents, Ivonne Gudmundson, Sidney Michaud and John Toews, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special mentions go out to good family friend John Smale and Shawn and Evelyn Gudmundson. Honorary pallbearers will be John Smale, Shawn Gudmundson, Chris Kent, Eric Schultz and Finley Jones Michaud. Private family services. A trust fund has been set up in the name of the Darichuk children and donations may be made at any Royal Bank.
