Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES BRAUN (nee REMPEL) 1902 - 2005 Peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the age of 102 our dear mother passed away to be with her Lord and Saviour forever. She was born August 31, 1902 in the village of Tiegenhagen, South Russia. In 1926 her family immigrated to Canada, fleeing political unrest in her beloved homeland and settled on a farm near Graysville, MB. She married George Braun on July 24, 1927, in Graysville, under tall elm trees; this might have been the first garden wedding for the area. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1977 and shared 53 years together. They farmed for many years in the Ste. Elizabeth area, until their retirement in 1967, when they moved to the Riverview area in Winnipeg. Mom lived there until Dad's death; then moved to Bethel Place and later on to Bethania Haus, to be with her sisters, Liese and Helen. Mom was predeceased by her parents; eight sisters and five brothers; her husband George in 1980 and one son Henry in 1999. She is survived by her immediate family; two daughters, Ruth of Bethania Personal Care Home, husband (Peter) Martens) of Sanford, MB, Margaret (Walter Toews) of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Joyce Braun of St. Catharines, ON; three sons, John (Margaret) of Kelowna, BC, George (Dell) of Winnipeg, Leonard (Erica) of Winnipeg. Mom also leaves behind 15 beloved grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mom's Guardian Angel Adina Wall for her untiring, and compassionate care giving, in her apartment and the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Christine Loepp and all the nurses and staff on 3 East Concordia Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be conducted from the Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 945 Sargent Ave., Winnipeg, MB, April 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Springstein Cemetery, Springstein, MB. If friends and relatives so wish, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Bethania Personal Care Home or M.C.C. or to a charity of their choice. In charge of arrangements, Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB, 1-204-346-1030.
