VICTOR P. ALLEN Peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Victoria General Hospital, Vic passed away at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Bud Budel. He is lovingly remembered by his loving wife Marion and brother James (Bernice) Allen of Peterborough, ON, a niece Bev (Brian) Cheys of Winnipeg and a nephew Guy (Debbie) Budel of Beausejour, also great-niece Jennifer and great-nephews, Geoffrey, Michael and Matthew Cheys of Winnipeg, great-nieces, Alexis Budel of Beausejour. Nephews, Lorne (Vicki) Allen, Gregg Allen, great-niece Carlie Allen, Kelly Allen, great-great-niece Alana and great-nephew Luke Allen, all of Peterborough and sister-in-law Jo Meyer of Winnipeg. Vic served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and was an instructor at H.M.C.S. Chippawa after the war. He retired from the Toronto Dominion bank in 1982. Vic was scout leader of the Third Winnipeg Scout Troup in St. Vital for a number of years, on the board of directors of the Winnipeg Game and Fish 1963 to 1968. He was also a director of the Winnipeg Gladiolus and Dahlia Society and for a number of years was a games coordinator for M.S.O.S. St. Vital / St. Boniface. Vic loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vic to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
